Sweet Pink Bundle | Austin TX Newborn Photographer

Kim del Angel - Austin TX Newborn Photographer

I love being an Austin TX newborn photographer, but there’s nothing better than photographing a sweet little baby that belongs to one of my close friends!

This little one’s mama was all about pink and delicate flowers, as they had hoped and prayed for a little girl for some time. Her nursery is decorated with owls, so I ordered this owl special just for her. I love how it blends into the creamy backdrop without taking over the shot. <3

Kim del Angel - Austin TX Newborn Photographer

Can you believe how much baby looks like her big brother? He could not get enough of her!

One thing I always work into my Austin TX newborn photographer sessions is time for the siblings to be photographed by themselves. While we’re all there to celebrate baby, this gives the big brother/sister a little special attention and captures them in the ‘now’ when baby arrived.

When you book a session with me, your favorite Austin TX newborn photographer, your session is absolutely worry free. I know it’s tough to be still or ‘pose’ when you’re little. Whether your child is holding the baby or having their moment alone in front of the camera, I’ve got things covered. I make sure the poses are safe and full of smiles, plus a little giggling here and there (that’s my favorite!)

If you’re expecting, I’d love to chat with you about designing a newborn session just for you.

Here’s how you can get in touch with me:

Don’t forget, newborn photography sessions are typically scheduled while mom is in her second trimester. This allows us to schedule your session based on your due date, making sure that we can be flexible in case baby comes early or arrives late.

I can’t wait to hear from you!  <3 Kim

Birthday Wishes | Austin Baby Photographer

Balloons and birthday cakes are so much fun!!!

Austin Cake Smash Photographer

I always marvel as an Austin baby photographer at how fast my little newborn clients grow into these precious babies so full of laughter, love and personality. She was such a joy at her cake smash. It’s so much fun to watch them I have to remember to take the pictures too!   She had as much fun with the balloons as she did smashing her tasty cake so I’m not sure which was her favorite. Not all babies love to smash a cake so I advise my parents to let them smash a few cupcakes before their big day. Sweet Finley didn’t have any reservations, however, about digging into her cake and loved every crumb!

Her cake really was beautiful and I absolutely loved her session designed in the pink and gold theme her mom chose. Cake smashes are a great opportunity to celebrate their growing personality, just let them have fun and not necessarily worry about that “perfect” shot. I find these images are often some of the most treasured. My goal in cake smash sessions, as with any of my sessions, is to work closely with mom and dad to design a session that truly reflects this moment in their precious little person’s life. The sky is the limit with a cake smash and can be simple and elegant or whimsical and fun. I am really lucky to have found an amazing baker at Sugar Love Bake Shop! She is so sweet to to work with me on my cake smashes and really can make visions come to life. They are as delicious as they are beautiful!

Happy birthday Finley! It was such a joy to capture your sweet smiles this year!

Snuggles and Cuddles | Austin Newborn Photographer

I love welcoming all new babies into my Austin Newborn Photography studio, but I especially watching my families grow.  Big brother was one of my tiny clients as an Austin Newborn Photographer not too long ago. They look so much alike as babies  with their wispy blond hair and sweet little faces. I have a soft spot in my heart for brothers as I have three boys of my own. Of course, brotherly love isn’t always about hugs and kisses but when those moments happen they are really special and I was really excited to capture one of them.

I get asked all the time as an Austin Newborn Photographer how I get the babies to sleep so peacefully. While some babies are naturally more interested in sleep than others I do have a  few tricks up my sleeve. I have three favorite products I use during my sessions. The first is the Baby Shusher. It has been called the “Soothing Sleep Miracle for Babies” and I do believe that is absolutely true! This little device makes a gentle shooshing sound that settles babies and helps to keep them in a quiet sleep.  The second is a weighted swaddle blanket. I have found any kind of gentle pressure on the chest and sides of baby mimics the sensation of being held. The third is relatively new is called the Tranquillo Mat. This mat provides the reassurance of the womb by mimicking a mom’s heartbeat and motions through gentle vibrations and soft sounds. I never leave baby unattended, however, when using these products and you should follow all product directions regarding baby’s safety when they are in use. The links are copied below. Happy Napping!

Sweet Little Archer | Austin Newborn Photographer

Sweet little Archer was quite the charmer! His cheeks alone are enough to fall in love with him. I do have to admit, I am partial to squishy, baby cheeks as an Austin newborn photographer!!! You could kiss them all day. He really was the prettiest little baby with so much hair and a perfect little nose. He was also just the sweetest, just sleeping away for almost the entire session.

I am also lucky enough to have worked with his beautiful mama even before he came along and she chose me as her Austin newborn photographer. She is as sweet and beautiful as her little guy. Her maternity pictures were stunning and I was so excited about her Austin maternity session.

My newborn sessions are styled with a simple, classic look customized with your colors and highlighted with handmade accessories and props. As an Austin baby photographer, my sessions are based in Austin, TX and the beautiful surrounding Hill Country area including Drippings Springs, Bee Caves and Lakeway. I have mentored with two of the top newborn photographers in the last three years, am current on my whooping cough vaccine and have studied the best ways to keep baby warm, sleepy, safe and comfortable during their session. A tip I always give my mom and dads is to stroke the area above their little nose, between their eyes in a downward motion. I consulted with an acupuncturist on key pressure points and found this point is known as the third eye in yoga. You are essentially “closing” their eye when you apply pressure to this point and stroking downward.

Tiny Treasure | Austin Newborn Photographer

Even though I’ve photographed hundreds of beautiful babes as an Austin newborn photographer I will never get use to how they are so truly small, precious and perfect. This little treasure is certainly no exception. She is so, so petite with the most beautiful features. She is definitely in the running for the best hair award and has the most amazing, creamy skin. Mom picked out the most delicate and elegant headbands, bonnets and outfits and they fit her perfectly. They are also some of the my favorites and I love how this session so beautifully came together.

I was honored to have photographed big sister as an austin newborn photographer as well and she was just as beautiful as baby sister. I love to not only capture sibling pictures but individual images of them as well. It’s so fun to see how they’ve grown and look back to see if they resemble baby sister or brother.
