“He is a blessing, a little bit of Heaven, sent down to Earth.”
He really is just a little bit of Heaven and is certainly blessed with a family who completely adores him. I love it when Dad’s are excited to be a part of the session and Merrick’s dad was really so sweet, excited about his outfits and which backdrops we were going to use.
Mom and dad both loved my grey sleepy cap outfit and I do think those images are so precious. I love, love the image of him sleeping, wearing that ridiculously cute cap, snuggled up with his teddy bear.
I will say the image with mom and dad holding Merrick and little brother photo bombing them is my absolute favorite sibling image I’ve ever taken as an Austin baby photographer. This image was completely spontaneous and I didn’t even know I had captured it until I was sorting through the session. Mom and dad love it as well and plan on hanging a canvas of this image in their bedroom.
I always allow time for the siblings to be photographed by themselves during my Austin TX newborn photographer sessions. I think it’s so important give big brother/sister a little special attention and captures them in the ‘now’ when baby arrived.
When you book a session with me, your favorite Austin TX newborn photographer, your session is absolutely worry free. I know it’s tough to be still or ‘pose’ when you’re little. Whether your child is holding the baby or having their moment alone in front of the camera, I’ve got things covered. I make sure the poses are safe and full of smiles, plus a little giggling here and there (that’s my favorite!)
If you’re expecting, I’d love to chat with you about designing a newborn session just for you.

Don’t forget, newborn photography sessions are typically scheduled while mom is in her second trimester. This allows us to schedule your session based on your due date, making sure that we can be flexible in case baby comes early or arrives late.
I love welcoming all new babies into my Austin Newborn Photography studio, but I especially watching my families grow. Big brother was one of my tiny clients as an Austin Newborn Photographer not too long ago. They look so much alike as babies with their wispy blond hair and sweet little faces. I have a soft spot in my heart for brothers as I have three boys of my own. Of course, brotherly love isn’t always about hugs and kisses but when those moments happen they are really special and I was really excited to capture one of them.
I get asked all the time as an Austin Newborn Photographer how I get the babies to sleep so peacefully. While some babies are naturally more interested in sleep than others I do have a few tricks up my sleeve. I have three favorite products I use during my sessions. The first is the Baby Shusher. It has been called the “Soothing Sleep Miracle for Babies” and I do believe that is absolutely true! This little device makes a gentle shooshing sound that settles babies and helps to keep them in a quiet sleep. The second is a weighted swaddle blanket. I have found any kind of gentle pressure on the chest and sides of baby mimics the sensation of being held. The third is relatively new is called the Tranquillo Mat. This mat provides the reassurance of the womb by mimicking a mom’s heartbeat and motions through gentle vibrations and soft sounds. I never leave baby unattended, however, when using these products and you should follow all product directions regarding baby’s safety when they are in use. The links are copied below. Happy Napping!

One of the sweetest things about Austin newborn photography is witnessing the new love mom and dad have for their new, most special person. I love these family newborn photographs and mom, dad and baby are all just gorgeous! He had the pretteiest nursery and one of mom’s requests was to use this beautiful cow hide rug which covers his floor. I’m so glad she did. I’m a little bit obsessed with these images with all the pattern and how it really highlights how tiny babies truly are. You can’t always tell how small newborns are in their photographs and this little guy was no exception. He only weighed about 7 lbs. and was quite the little snuggle bug. We even got a little smile out of him and those are always priceless in newborn photographs!
Another great resource for my new parents is Stork Maternity Consulting. I have worked with these lovely ladies on several projects and they provide resources such as lactation consultants, postpartum doulas and a boutique with lots of newborn goodies!
This little monkey has completely stolen his mom and dad’s hearts! I love all the bright tropical colors to match his Under the Sea nursery and monkeys are momma’s favorite so we had to include a monkey hat too!!!
